Set up your custom email on your iPhone

General Setup

  • Open Settings.

  • Tap Mail.

  • Tap Accounts.
    Note: For older iOS versions, you will instead tap Add Account > Other > Add Mail Account. Then, skip to Step 6.

  • Tap Add Account.

  • Choose Other.

  • Enter your account details and tap Next.

Account Details
FIELDINPUT

PasswordThe password given to you by the Montane Booking team.
DescriptionEnter a description for your account here. This information is only used to better differentiate your account from one another.

Server Setup

  • Receive your mail using the IMAP (recommended) or POP protocol by entering the respective host name for Incoming Mail Server.
  • Enter the remaining data and tap Next.

Incoming Email Server Details

Although the Outgoing Server Settings are marked as Optional by default, you must enter the Outgoing Server Settings below to properly set up your email account.

If you do not add these settings, you will not be able to send email.

Please Note:

  • The email account is automatically set up with SSL encryption. The device performs the correct configuration in the background. You no longer have to set anything manually.

 

Synchronization Options

Select which data (mail, notes) you want to synchronize and confirm with Save.

 

Your email account is now set up. You can now check your mailbox and send emails on your iPhone.

Set up your custom email on your Android
  • Tap the Settings icon (typically displayed as a gear).
  • Go to Accounts.
  • Tap Add Account.
  • Select Personal (IMAP).
  • Enter your email address and tap Next.
  • Enter the password to your email address and tap Next.
  • In the Server field, enter imap.ionos.com and tap Next.
  • In the SMTP Server field, enter smtp.ionos.com and tap Next.
  • Choose your desired Account Options and tap Next.
  • If you would like, you can change the default Account Name, which helps you differentiate this account from other email accounts on your device, or Your Name, which is displayed on messages you send. Finally, tap Next to complete the setup process.

If you choose to perform a manual setup or would like to use a POP3 account instead, you can find the necessary settings below.

Your email account has been successfully added to your Android device and should be ready to use immediately.

Set up your custom email in Apple Mail

Quick Start Guide

If you have not yet set up an email account in Apple Mail:
  • Open Mail.

    • The Choose a Mail Account Provider window opens.

  • Select Other Mail account… and click continue.
If you have already set up an email account in Apple Mail:
  • Open Mail and click Mail > Add Account ... on the menu bar.

  • Select Other Mail Account ….

Use the following settings/information to set up your email account:

Adding an Email Account to Apple Mail

  • Open Apple Mail and click Mail > Add Account… on the menu bar.
  • Select the Other mail account... option and click Continue.
  • Enter your name, Montane Booking custom email address, and password and click Log In. (If you have lost the password to your email account, you can contact us here).
  • Under Username, enter your email address again.
  • Select the desired account type. You can choose between the account types IMAP or POP3. We recommend using the default IMAP setting.

    • If you have set the account type  to IMAP, enter imap.ionos.com in the Server for incoming emailfield.
    • If you have set the account type  to POP3, enter pop.ionos.com in the Server for incoming emailfield.
  • In the Outgoing mail server field, enter smtp.ionos.com and click Log in.
    Please note: If the message Account name/Password could not be verified is displayed, please check your entries for completeness/accuracy.
  • Select the apps you want to use with your account and click Done.

 

Enabling SSL Encryption

  • On the Mail menu bar, click Mail > Settings.
  • Click Accounts > Server Settings tab.

  • Under Incoming email server (IMAP) or Incoming email server (POP3), disable the Manage connection settings automatically option.

  • Enter the following port number:

    • If you have set the account type to IMAP, enter the port number 993 in the Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) > Port field.
    • If you have set the account type to POP3, enter the port number 995 in the Incoming Mail Server (POP3) > Port field.
      Please note: The TLS/SSL setting allows your emails to be transmitted using SSL encryption as well.
  • In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) section, disable the Manage connection settings automatically option.

  • Enter the port number 587 in the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) > Port field.

  • Click Save.

First-Time Setup of an Email Account

  • When you open Outlook for Microsoft 365 for the first time after successful installation, the Select Profile window appears. Confirm the automatically set up profile by clicking OK.

    If no profile is displayed in the Profile Name field, enter the desired profile name and click OK.

  • Enter the email address.

  • Click Advanced options.

  • Check the Let me set up my account manually option.

  • Click Connect.

  • If you want to retrieve your emails using IMAP (Recommended), select the IMAP account type. If you want to retrieve your emails using POP3, select the POP account type.

  • If you are setting up an IMAP account, enter the incoming mail server imap.ionos.com. Enter port 993 in the Port field and select SSL/TLS in the Encryption method list.

    If you are setting up a POP3 account, enter the incoming mail server pop.ionos.com. Enter port 995 in the Port field and enable the Server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS) option.

  • In the Outgoing mail section, enter the outgoing mail server smtp.ionos.com. Then, enter port 465 in the Port field and select SSL/TLS in the Encryption method list.

  • Click Next.

  • Enter the password you were given by the Montane Booking team.

  • Click Connect.

The Account successfully added window is displayed.

  • Click Done.

You can now use Outlook to check and manage your email.

Notes
  • If no messages are able to be sent or received, check the account settings.

  • Check the firewall you are using to make sure that the required ports are enabled.

  • Check the settings of the antivirus program you are using.

 

 

Setting Up Another Email Account

  • Open Microsoft Outlook.

  • Click File > Info > + Add account.

  • Enter the email address.

  • Click Advanced options.

  • Check the Let me set up my account manually option.

  • Click Connect.

  • If you want to retrieve your emails using IMAP, select the IMAP account type. If you want to retrieve your emails using POP3, select the POP account type.

  • If you are setting up an IMAP account, enter the incoming mail server imap.ionos.com. Enter port 993 in the Port field and select SSL/TLS in the Encryption method list.

    If you are setting up a POP3 account, enter the incoming mail server pop.ionos.com. Enter port 995 in the Port field and enable the Server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS) option.

  • In the Outgoing mail section, enter the outgoing mail server smtp.ionos.com. Then, enter port 465 in the Port field and select SSL/TLS in the Encryption method list.

  • Click Next.

  • Enter the password you were given by the Montane Booking team.

  • Click Connect.

The Account successfully added window is displayed.

  • Click Done.

You can now use Outlook to check and manage your email.
